i rented this movie as a joke just at the sight of crazy MD on the cover, but turned out really really liking it. its cute, its funny, its original. if you come on this site and see the review about a 'national treasure' remake, ignore it. this movie had nothing to do with the treasure! i mean not really, you know? so in short...dont judge a dvd by its cover even if it has a hilarious bug eyed MD on the cover.
ive been reading some posts on here, and have been shocked. im picky about movies myself and the only negative thing i have to say was that it was slow at the beginning. ive seen a hell of a lot of movies. im a movie buff and havent rented one this good in a long time.
Exactly my comment. After 15 mins I was gonna shut it down, but I stayed with it a little while longer. Then it really took hold. I was fascinated by Douglas' character. The daughter was great. At 1/2 point I really liked it and was hooked. It turned out to be a story that can be watched on many different levels. Admittedly it's not for everyone's taste. I voted it a 9/10. I recommended it highly to my daughters.
my favorites are Harlow and Garbo. I guess I'm just an old fashion guy
