goofs

Costco has night stockers.
Costco does not have security guards
Costco would not have diving gear with tanks full of oxygen (biggest goof) but the line was wonderful "this store has everything!"

Those are the three that stood out to me, of course, that's because I work for a wholesale club..and because you never see anyone storing oxygen in tanks - 1) it's explosive 2) it degrades

If I'm wrong about that, I'm sure one of you diving folks can correct me!

Did anyone else notice any other "goofs?"

I do! I enjoyed the movie, if I didn't have the "intimate" connection with wholesale clubs, I wouldn't have given it a second thought! I enjoyed the movie. Though I'm more a Kirk Douglas kind of gal.

They do have night stockers, I don't think that store is ever empty. But I forgive the diving equipment bit, I didn't find it too illogical. I think they should of set it in a fictional costco-like store, instead of a actual costco. But I guess Costco probably paid to be used in the film.

He determined the spot to dig....how?

You can't just set up a contractor's level in the middle of a building, turn it some random direction, pull a tape 67', and find a spot that you "calculated" from an old hand-drawn archive.

They don't construct a warehouse store on top of a huge flowing sewer or underground river. Christ, they would've excavated much deeper during construction than he dug.

Suspension of disbelief, sure - but come on.

I was thinking the same thing when Charlie said the treasure was buried 6-7 feet deep. Still, it didn't make the movie any worse for me. I managed to suspend my disbelief like a real trooper.

For those reasons, I'm saying that he didn't find anything, but rocks and sewage - and his death, obviously.

I tried to find it inspirational and/or Don Quixote-like (as others have written). It just didn't do it for me - and I like movies that go nowhere.
