'It's a virgin by the way'.

Hey good morning.

How are you ?

When Miranda is at the party with the "swingers", they give her a drink and then the lady gives the same drink to a guy next to Miranda and she says "it's a virgin by the way". We then quickly see Miranda surprised with big eyes.

Was it a clear allusion to Miranda and her personnal life since the drink is also named a virgin ?

I thought the scene was not really clear about it.

Have a nice day.

a virgin drink means that there is no alcohol in it.

Hi Jules_su.

How are you ?

I know what is a virgin drink, this is not what I asked about..

Miranda looks surprised 3 seconds when she hears that. I thought the idea was to make us think she believes they were talking about her. Do you understand ?

Watch that scene again if you can.

Have a nice day.

but it is not "named a virgin"...it is "named" a "daiquiri" this is why jules su questioned you. as do i.

now to answer your question. I believe the look on her face was just her being reminded why they supposedly invited her in the first place. I doubt they thought she was a virgin... considering she probably lied about her age to get the job at costco... why would you invite a 16 year old to a bbq in the first place?... and then suggest a hot tub rendezvous?

have a nice day.

Hey Olgluefoot.

How are you ?

I'm sorry but they say "it's a virgin by the way" talking about the drink. So maybe the drink is named a "Daiquiri" and is a virgin because it has no alcohol in it but she looks very suprised. So I thought they were talking about the drink but Miranda thought they were talking about her.. Anyway..

Well it's kind of confusing now..:-p

Whatever, fun little movie!

Have a nice day.

No, I thought the same thing actually.

Big Gay Al, it has recently come to our attention that you are gay.

Virgin = non alcoholic - never was it used to mean the name of the drink.

It was used however as a double entendre, and not a subtle one at that. Miranda's surprise is that of a person who caught the inference when perhaps the wife thought she was incredibly dense and would not. Closer to truth is that the wife was incredibly dense and thought it was a subtle comment.

Not to be rude, but your (OP) confusion on the virgin thing leads me to think either you are under 13 or english is not your first language. Either one close?

I agree. Miranda might not have interpreted the comment in the correct context if she hadn't had known that the couple were swingers.

bushtony and his mother suffer from Congential Stupidtiy and they didn't see it coming.
