shareHi Sarah.
Is that scene on the hill with the car window being smashed in Downpatrick? I know the town but can't picture the building thats in the background.
Regards, Dan.
Hi ya. I'd like to know that bar also? Think I heard it was in East Belfast and was since demolished along with many local streets for redevelopment, but can't confirm that.
Cheers, Dan
Its in Carrickfergus, on the North Road, easy enough to find.
shareI was in that scene with the bar. It was filmed on a clear night in November and it was freezing! We were all onlookers as the 'police' cordened off the scene. It was pretty cool as Julie Walters chatted to us. We were told to take off our coats as the scene is supposed to be in the summer time but it was terribly cold! Thankfully I was wrapped at about 9ish but several poor extras had to stay on for another hour as the director wanted to get a shot of the police car driving away and he needed to see onlookers reflected in the car! I'm so glad I didn't need to stick around for that! My wife was an extra in the scene where the kids are robbing the bank. This was on a purpose built bank set in the Titanic Quarter (exteriors were filmed in Castlewellan). In the end you can only see her arm! Such is the lot of an extra.
I learnt a valuable lesson that day - if it is cold, wear thermals!
