Have to give credit to Candace Azzara for nailing the "evil step-mother" role. I actually despised her during the entire movie. Her overbearing and controlling tone. How she was eyeing the silverware during the engagement dinner with Simon's parents. Her snide comments. As well as the character played out it still unnerved me how Rose and Maggie's father just let her treat his daughters that way. He slightly stood up to her toward the end, finally, but still let her get away really vile behavior toward his children, especially Rose with that bridal shower "roast". It would have been more satisfying to see her put in her place finally or for their Dad to kick her to the curb.
