In reality Maggie couldn't live at the retirement community

They're very strict in those retirement communites in FL. Usually 55 and over.

They dictate how long your adult kids and grandkids can even visit.

I liked the film, but there is no way Maggie could live there.

Perhaps they made an exception for her because she worked there, and allowed her to stay longer than they usually would.

By the end of the movie she's happy and stable and confident; she's found herself. I haven't read the book, so maybe we can just assume that after Rose and Simon went off on their honeymoon, she either found an apartment in Philly or NYC or went back to Florida with her grandmother and got an apartment near the retirement community so she could continue to work there and visit her grandmother.

Actually, it depends on the community. Many of them have the rule that at least the primary resident must be 55 or older, and the rest of the family and/or spouse must be at least 35 years of age.

I'm not boring you am I?
No my doctor says I need to air out the back of my throat every 5 minutes

^ Yeah it definitely depends on the community. Many will only enforce such a rule if they get complaints, in this film Diaz was too nice to the neighbors for them to want her evicted.

Oh I was wondering the same thing!
And then I was wondering if at some point she was going to have to legalize her business.
Where exactly are they all when they plan to lure Simon down to Florida? Looks like a fancy boutique, but maybe it's someone's fancy living room.
Do you think she stayed in Florida or came back to Philly? She could have opened a boutique in the community, or would there be a law against that?
