Book Simon (Mark Feuerstein)reads to Rose (Toni Collette)

Does anyone know the name of the book that Simon was reading to Rose on the date that they wound up in bed together????? I know it was written by Stephanie someone but I couldn't catch the rest of it. Any help would be great.

"Captain Jack's Woman" by Stephanie Laurens

The qoute is at the end of chapter 19. They cut out some lines for the movie, but the rest is there too.
I'm currently reading the Avon Books version first published in 1997 and the qoute is on page 212.

Actually, I found this part of the film confusing. Simon says that it was Maggie's book. But it's hard to imagine Maggie having any books if she essentially couldn't read. Can anyone explain this?

If you noticed he gat very turned on reading it.
He didn't want to embarass Rose.

I believe Rose says that it's her sisters book, because she is embarassed to admit it's hers. She says somewhere in the movie that she reads romance novels-saying something like it's the only place she can get romance!

*That ain't no etch-a-sketch. That's one doodle that can't be undid, homeskillet!*

reply

Yes, it makes most sense that Rose lied and the book was actually hers

reply

It was Rose's book but she was embarrassed and pretended it was Maggie's.
