Cameron's Best Work?

I'm not a fan of Cameron Diaz, but I have to be honest that I think she did a fantastic job in this movie. She makes such a transition from the start to finish (from drunk and hooking up in a bathroom to actually being responsible and more mature). And I believed the entire transition. (Both actresses were excellent in this movie).

Anyone else think this was actually her best work? I've often thought she was a bad actress, but here I think she nailed it.

i never disliked her, but i always thought she was a pretty bad actress. she was ok in some comedies, but thats it.

i thought she did a great job in this (actually i thought she was pretty good in vanilla sky too), and it proved that she is capable of being a good dramatic actress.

This is my favourite film of hers. I think she did really well, especially alongside Toni Collette. They made a great team. :]

Maturity. The very staple of the IMDb message boards.

All the other movies I have seen in she was meh, but her performance in this movie was great.

Don't know that I've ever seen her in anything besides the Mask, but never had the impression that she was much of an actress. She did do a very good job in this though.

She was good in this one and I remember a journalist in my country saying she'd win an Oscar and I don't know why 'cause everybody around just talked about Toni and Shirley's great performances.

This was good, I loved the movie The Holiday too.

I feel pretty much the same way.

I think she also looked her best post-Mask in this movie.

Check out Being John Malkovich; she did a great job there too.

Totally agree with you. This move changed my view of her.It turns out she's much more than a pure pretty face or blonde doll. She used to impress me like that blonde girl in Mask ,nothing but a pretty face and nice figure. It turns out she's also capable of this kind of deep and dramatic character. Her personality in this film seems more attractive than her sweet face.

In Her Shoes is Cameron Diaz's best performance.

Anton Chigurh is dead and Spider-Man 3 is superior in every way to Funny Games.

I agree I am not a big fan either, but she was really great in this film.

You jump, I jump remember? I can't turn away without knowing you'll be alright <3

By far Cameron's best work. I'm not normally a fan of hers -- in fact, normally I can't stand her antics -- but she's pitch-perfect here, sensitive and believable. There's none of the standard butt-wiggling and wincing that she brings to her other roles.

I give credit to Curtis Hanson as well as Cameron Diaz for that. In fact, I think this is my favorite Curtis Hanson film as well.

Her best work? She seems to excel at playing vapid blondes. Her better work is in more challenging roles, like "Gangs of New York".
