I found the songs oddly enchanting and endearing. I liked seeing Danny Thomas, hearing Marlo and Roddy McDowall, and I liked the sentiment. I liked the character of the cricket, too. The "Cricket on the Hearth" song is catchy and sweet. I know it's not an Oscar contender, but still...I like it. I remember it fondly from when I was a kid.

You are not the only person who likes this movie. It's a rare gem, but I absolutely adore this movie. I cried like a baby when I first watched it. I think the father (Danny Thomas) trying to make everything seem happy for his blind daughter is what really got to me. And I thought a lot of the music was beautiful.
