music from the trailer

when i saw the trailer to this movie, i was very enamored with the music--i felt like it was familiar too, but couldn't quite place it... are those songs on the soundtrack? if so, where is the soundtrack available? if someone could help me out with the names of the two songs that were in the trailer, i would definitely appreciate it. thanks!

reply

Hi there, maybe I can't help you with both of the songs but the name of the movie's theme is: Casas de Cartón. It's hard to find but is not impossible. see ya

reply

I have just seen the trailer and tried to find out about the music on the web site, to no avail. The song I noticed was sung in English and had a haunting folk style melody, a male voice I didn't recognize. If you find out more, please post or respond to [email protected]

Thanks.

CASAS DE CARTON
===========================
Qué triste se oye la lluvia
en los techos de cartón;
qué triste vive mi gente
en las casas de cartón.

Viene bajando el obrero
casi arrastrando los pasos
por el peso del sufrir;
mira que mucho es sufrir,
mira que pesa el sufrir.

Arriba deja a la mujer preñada,
abajo está la ciudad
y se pierde en su maraña.
Hoy es lo mismo que ayer;
es su vida sin mañana.

Ay, cae la lluvia
viene el sufrimiento,
pero si la lluvia pasa,
¿cuando pasa el sufrimiento?
¿Cuándo viene la esperanza?

Niños color de mi tierra
con sus mismas cicatrices,
millonarios de lombrices.
Por eso qué triste viven los niños
en las casas de cartón.
Qué alegres viven los perros,
casa del explotador.

Usted no lo va a creer,
pero hay escuelas de perros
y les dan educación
pa' que no muerdan los diarios.
Pero el patrón
hace años, muchos años
que está mordiendo al obrero.

Qué triste se oye la lluvia
en las casas de cartón,
qué lejos pasa la esperanza
de los techos de cartón.

Why did the Salvadoan Army ban this song?

reply

"Casas de carton" is interpreted by Marco Antonio Solis

reply

Actually, i'ts interpreted by Ali Primera, a venezuelan singer, just like ramos-octavio said. It was later re-recorde by Marcos Antonio Solis, among other artist. And it's called "Techos de carton" not "Casas de carton" ;)

ok :) that was easy. how about the other song, the one on the radio in the river, in the rain, after he found the house of christina maria in flames? 'i have a reason, a reason to wait, for ..." that ws the second verse, or at least that was the bulgarian translation

that is the most beautiful song i'bve ever heard
