Season One-What happened to Théâtre sans Argent?

I was glad someone else asked about May, too--I hate these loose ends! In addition to May being forgotten, I was disappointed that Geoffrey dumped his tiny theater company to work at the big theater, and then we never find out what happens to them. Is it ever referred to in later seasons? (I'm partway through Season Two now.)

reply

I always figured that it closed down and he didn't need to talk about it again.
And yes, he talks about briefly in the last episode of Season 3.

reply

I agree. Geoffrey's antics at the closed theater prompted offers of sponsorship, equipment and a place to play. And yet, he seems to walk away from the company altogether without a backward glance. Seemed pretty cold to me.

reply

and also he never returned the car!
They could have explained this in about 2 minutes... it's strange really, because the rest of the series is very well written!

yes to go with an additional comment, he resurrects it at the end of season 3 with ellen, who he marries

May isn't a loose end. She dies. We hear the sound of her heart monitor flatlining as the scene cuts away to the next scene.

The Theatre sans Argent is presumably surviving without Geoffrey. At the moment when he leaves to take a paying job (like any reasonable actor), the company has just been offered assistance from a couple of university theaters. It's normal for an actor working with a small company to move to a better job if one comes up. Geoffrey doesn't do anything wrong with respect to the company (well, except for bouncing checks and assaulting the landlord. But he did fix the toilet, which evens things out.)

reply

A few episodes later Richard refers to her being in a coma.
