Does 'Ellen' remind anyone else of Betty Buckley?

She's a Broadway musical actress who was in the movie Carrie and also the series Eight is Enough. (More recently, she had a reocurring role on the prison drama Oz, and was in the original pilot for the TV show Brothers and Sisters, but was eventually replaced by Sally Field.)

My vision isn't so great, and as I was watching this show from the couch, I kept thinking her speaking voice and even looks resemble Betty Buckley, to a degree.

It's not real strong, but I can see where that might occur to you. BTW, have you ever seen Betty B.'s cousin, Candy Buckley, on stage? Years ago, I used to see her in plays at the Dallas Theater Center, and really enjoyed her a lot. I read about things she's doing in New York and elsewhere from time to time--glad she's doing well. I love Betty Buckley's performance of the song "Only One" on the recording of William Finn's ELEGIES (along with many other performances, of course). She's pretty wonderful in so many ways, and I'm glad she's moved back to North Texas, and is teaching singing workshops here.

I never heard of Betty Buckley before. I checked out the link and yes, I can see some striking similarities. I can see why you think they resemble each other.
