Which American actor does Tennant sound like?

His deep voice is very reminiscent of some famous American. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think that he sounds exactly like James Spader from Boston Legal.

i think he sounds a heck of a lot like Seth McFarlane...in Tenant's more confident scenes he reminds me of Brian from Family Guy...

When Geoffrey is at his most manic, he reminds me of Kevin Kline.

I like this actor, just because he is great at this role. Can't imagine anyone else doing Jeffrey Tennant's character as well. He really doesn't remind me of any other actor I have ever seen. Yes, Kevin Kline can do manic well too. But, to me, they are very different in their appearance and their acting styles.
