Why is it that the word "guts" appears next to him sometimes when he is present?

It's translating what it says on his red shirt.

Thank you, I'm glad somebody answered me.

Also, anytime he's angry it says 'Rage' instead.

Yeah that makes sense, I have every episode even though Mechazawa is one of my favorite characters its funny when he gets angry.
