The Death of Harvey/2001

The best thing about the miniseries. Without a doubt.

It perfectly captured the moment... an epic moment of transformation, mystery, bittersweet sadness. Much as Harvey was a destructive figure, he was still protective and had become a significant part of Chriton's internal experience. It was the end of an era, and the beginning of a new chapter of Chriton and the universe's evolution.

I recognized... not only did it capture the feeling of the moment, but the shots were perfect recreations of 2001. I took a minute to google some images from 2001, and compared to PKWars.

The decor of the room was almost identical to the movie. The color scheme, the furniture, the were all almost exact recreations of Kubrick. There were a few VERY subtle differences, but they were so miniscule it took a lot of looking to see them.

Even the angles of the shots were the same. The same perspective, the same scale... especially a diagonal wide shot with the monolith on the right and the bed further back on the left, as well as the shots from behind the bed looking toward the monolith.

Harvey's gestures also mirrored those of Bowman on the deathbed. The right hand was raised just the perfect amount, the finger extensions were also exact.
