The production has halted on All Grown Up. Nickalodeon would rather pay for things like "Back at the barnyard" and "The Madagascar Penguins". It's plain to see that Nickalodeon doesn't care what they air anymore. I miss the good old days from the 90's where they would have the hand drawn animation like "Ahh, Real Monsters", "Rocko's Modern Life", and "The Rugrats".

I completely agree! The barnyard and penguins shows are babyish. Classics, like those you mentioned, are good for people of any age. I'm 22 and I still love all the old cartoons like Hey Arnold, The Angry Beavers, Doug, ... *sighs* Even All Grown Up is cute. I just saw the episode where Lil gets a training bra. Haha... it reminded me of Braceface (a show not of Nickelodeon) and As Told By Ginger.

I've been wondering about this myself.
Who has taken over at Nickelodeon??

Because it seems right around 2005, at the height of their dominance where they had a line up of GREAT shows that had pretty much RUINED DIsney, whose only decent show was Kim Possible at the time.

There was Jimmy Neutron, the Fairly Odd Parents, As Told By Ginger, Rocket Power, and Invader Zim, Rugrats all Grown up... and the venerable "Avatar: the last airbender"

All of a sudden, Nickelodeon just went straight into the ground. What in the world happened? I can't think of a single new show they've had in two years worth my time, and worse, it seems the majority of great series they had suddenly just disappeared. We saw Avatar come to an end, As told by Ginger quietly disappeared and returned with the final episodes, Fairly odd parents kinda petered out, and Jimmy Neutron dematerialized even as it became more and more brilliantly written. Did Nickelodeon fall prey to the ailing economy? Or is this a sign of a larger problem: The decline of handdrawn animation?

It seems thanks to the success of Pixar type cg movies, EVERYTHING must now be 3d CGI... sure Jimmy Neutron did it and it was fun, but now EVERY show is doing it, and worse, most of the new shows are stupid, boring, or a combination of both.

Someone at Nickelodeon needs to check and make sure some ex-Disney Executive didn't sneak into the company on a mission to destroy it from the inside to help Disney (who hasn't made a handdrawn feature film worth watching since TARZAN when it seemed like every year they had a new movie coming out) to rise back to the top.

Of course, this could also be due to the decline of Klasky-Csupo, the company responsible for many of the great shows including Ginger, Rugrats, and Rocket Power. The studio ruled the Animation market for YEARS and now seems to have disappeared inexplicably. Is hand-drawn animation too expensive to make now?
Did they make bad business decisions that forced them out of business?

I'm not sure, but it would be interesting to find out. Perhaps I'll pay a visit to Nickelodeon studios soon and ask somebody.

Spongebob is what's keeping Nickelodeon alive. Also, K-C is still around.
