Why is Tommy's Grandpa still alive?

Wasn't he in his 80s when Tommy and the others were babies?
If so then why he is still alive in this show?
He should be dead by then lol

I wondered the same thing lol.
then again, they are only preteens, so it's probably only been about 9 years or so.
The original rugrats almost all of them were a year old (angelica was 3 along with Suzie).

Assumably they were all probably around 2 years old when Dill came along, if not slightly older, since Tommy had a birthday at some point, there was a Hannukah and other seasons passed by, and it would take 9 months for Tommy's mother to have another baby so we can assume they were all about 2 or three.

By the time All grown up comes along, they are all around 10-12 years old.. I think 10 because Angelica is about 13.

So only 8-10 years has passed by, so Grandpa pickles would have only been about 90. Although, his age is questionable considering that Stew and Drew don't seem to be older than maybe mid-30's when the gang were still babies and I dont think Grandpa Pickles was older than maybe 60 or so.

More surprisingly actually is that Spike is still alive some 10 years later, since he was already full grown when they were babies and larger breeds of dogs live an average of about 8-12 years if they are well taken care of..

Lol I think we've put too much thought into this..

it's a cartoon aimed at kids and isn't supposed to be analyzed like a live action television show.

my great grandmother is 98 right now. And for an old woman, she's doing pretty good. She has some trouble hearing over the phone. But she still lives in an apartment by herself and not in a nursing home or with close medical supervision. She can still drive herself to church on Sundays. Pretty much the only health problem is arthritis is setting in. But that's pretty much it. She's most likely going to live to 100+

This is my signature, It's freakin' brilliant isn't it?

well your grandma needs to have her license taken from her. anybody over the age of 70 shouldn't be driving.

I wondered the same thing, he is old when rugrats happens and they are in middle school and he is still there... what? Personally he should of switched over in the elementry days..realisticly. IF THAT, preshcool is more like it..

It's debatable how old Grandpa Lou really was. I doubt he was over the age of 65 when the series began. He would often exagerrate his age in his stories and lies. So if he was 64 when Tommy was born he would have only been about 76 by the time All Grown up came about.

Heck, George H.W. Bush turned 85 in 2009 and what did he do to celebrate? He skydived!

Yes the weirdest part is that Spike is still kicking. He had to have been at least 13 years old.

Didn't Didi say Spike was like 90? So that would make him a little over 12 in human years. lol!

Your not really suppost to think about why Grandpa is alive, after all it is a kids show.

Kind of old but I distinctively remember in the mattress monster episode where Grandpa Lou's mattress is hurting his back and he doesnt want to get rid of it? well he flashes back and we see why the mattress tripped him and saved him from combat now im assuming this was WW2 now that would probably mean Grandpa Lou was atleast 18-20's around there but lets round off to 20 and lets say 1944 he was 20 this would mean he would have to have been in his 70's on All Grown Up, Stew's already like 35 when the show starts which means he was born in 1955-6 so that would mean that Grandpa Lou was 31-32 when stew was born which means that by 1991(when the show starts) 65-66 10 years later when all grown up starts he would be in his 70's maybe at most early 80's im pretty sure that explains how old he is now Tommy's other grandpa is a different story perhaps the years werent good to him but he might be around Grandpa Lou's age as well who knows?
