The first movie gets an 8 or 8.5 out of 10 for me. The second one maybe gets a 2. The third one gets a 1 (and that's being generous). The rest get zeroes. 4 and 7 are the worst of the bunch.

shareEverything that put the Saw franchise above films such as Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street in terms of quality was taken away with Saw 3D. Saw 1-6 are some of the smartest movies ever made, but 3D was just not the same. Maybe Saw 6 is partly to blame because it killed off most remaining characters forcing 3D to create new ones, but that is no excuse. The after credit scene in Saw 6 provided a great foundation for a storyline that would reveal Hoffman'a identity to the police, but instead they just decided to go down the horrible path of Jill looking for police protection. The lack of John Kramer heavily affected this movie too. Kramer is the glue that holds together everything that is Saw, and without him, we get messes that are Saw 3D. It isn't just story issues that made this movie such a disappointment, but the film just looked very B-Movie like. The effects were so fake, and they just went overboard with the kills.
