I've not seen this film but having read the synopsis and the back ground it sounds pretty similar to a film I remember seeing as a kid about 30 years ago.

As I recall it can on ITV in the UK on a morning during the school holidays I wasn't very old but I remember really enjoying it, but I've never seen it anywhere since. It was a europeon film which had been dubbed in English and would have been made sometime in the sixties, does anyone out there remember it and what it was actually called ?

That was the film I was looking for.

I am a bit sad though as it looks as if its all but impossible to get hold of a copy.
