HELP!

on planet Dobbo, where i'm supposed to fix the testing facility or whatever, how the *beep* do i get to that???? it says in missions to follow that robot, but he won't move, i can't use the tractor beam on him. a cheat somewhere told me how to scale the walls, but i can't figure it out. someone help me and tell me how to get the robot to move dammit. i can't continue with the game until i do.... argh. someone help.
