this movie just conforms to society

all this movie does is try and confirm society's oh age gaps are so bad taboo. i would love to see them try and do that with mixed race relationship

I disagree. Although it did not have a happy ending, it dealt with the age difference in a refreshingly honest manner. Much more so than in movies where Harrison Ford gets girls half his age.

For mixed race romances, try "Something New." I haven't seen it, but it got good reviews, and I liked Sanaa Hamri's next film "Just Wright."

It's not the age gap, it's usually time of life issues like kids, and yes, family pressure about marrying into the same religion, etc. I get the same pressure from my family, so it is true to life (not that I necessarily agree with it). :)

Not only that, but when she left him because of the model, I was floored. Let's take a break, but let me pick who you sleep with. Now, I may have missed that she was upset because he didn't tell her he took her advice, and hooked up. But they were not together. Maybe that was her wake up call about what they wanted.

She was more upset that he slept with a model who she worked with. That and the fact that they had sex only 2 weeks after "splitting up". I believe Morris makes a comment to him about the idea that she probably wouldn't have been so upset with him if he had gone out with a complete stranger rather than someone she knew and worked with personally.

I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least its an ethos.

How do you give someone permission to sleep with a stranger, but not someone you know. Seems a bit controlling, in my opinion.
Edit: the reverse is controlling also.

Yes I would love to see them trying it but movies are always like that.

Also he liked her and she liked him. Both loved each other and were in love and both knew what they wanted I mean it was not a superficial relationship it was true love but it looks like society can't accept happy things happening not even in movies they want things to be a failure and people not being happy and not being succesful. Sad but true but what is good is that some people don't fail for those prejudices and keep living their lives and ejoying it and it doesn't happen like in the movie.

Also her friends were totally crap always telling her oh it will not work o he is not good for you, no it wasn't good for her because it wasn't happening to them, they wish! Also she is old enough to know what she is doing, what they are doing, for God sake, it looks like nowadays everybody thinks the others are inmature or crazy for doing what they just want.

Anyway *beep* movie because of the end but I like it deep down I enjoy watching it until the moment when they make him starting to play videogames and being untidy and being at home all day, so stereotipical, who is like that? only stupid people and you don't date stupid people. anyway I had to say it:)
