"I made a vlle promise I have no intention of keeping"

I cant wrap my head around this dialogue. Tessa in a letter that Justin discovers from her cousin mentions her saying she has broken a conduct and asks for her cousins affirmative confirmation that what she did was right in order to get to the end and she wasnt a ruthless b***h.
Do these lines mean that Tessa was an adulteress who played justin for an entry into africa? She never loved Justin through the marriage and he was just mean to her end goal of exposing the TB drug testing racket?

I think that's got nothing to do with Justin.
The vile promise she is talking about is the promise she made to Sandy that he can have her in return for the letter in possession of Sandy. She made the promise in desperation and doesn't want to cheat on Justin as she is very much in love with him.
She says that she made the promise to a five-star creep and Justin would understand if he knew.Clearly, Justin is not the creep she is talking about. The creep is Sandy whom she calls as a five-star creep because he has a high ranking.

This makes much more sense. I guess I missed the "creep" part!

Thanks for posting, i couldnt figure this out either. I had trouble believing she was just using Justin because they seemed happy but could understand what else could be meant.
