Juliette's Accent?

So does Juliette Binoche do an American accent in this -- or is the mother character supposed to be French? I notice she's doing a Afrikaans accent in her next film -- so thought maybe she had decided to go for it and try for American.
(The only other French actresses I can think of who have done American accents as Julie Delpy and Isabel Adjani).

The character in the film is French

reply

The character is actually an American.

reply

Too bad! I think she's way sexier when she does a French accent!

reply

In the book the character is American. In the film this has been altered to allow Juliette speak naturally.

reply

I really can't tell if her accent is American, too me it sound American when I saw the tralier

reply

the character was not american
and had an accent
and when you saw her flash backs, you can hear her and her parents talking, and its not in english

Yes, they were speaking in French.

But speaking of accents, I noticed in this film that Gere did the strange pronunciation of Aaron where it sounds like/is the same as Erin. I think its a west coast thing and annoys the crap out of me when the name Aaron and Erin are pronounced the same. Grrrr.

I noticed the Erin thing too. I've been noticing it a lot lately actually.. not just in this movie.

reply

Oakland is...ON THE WEST COAST!

reply

I noticed Erin too! :) funny
