Air Emergency v Air Disasters

Anyone know the difference between Air Emergency and Air Disasters? They appear to be the same show with a different title. Advertisements for Air Disasters state new episodes appear each Sunday at 8PM, but those have already aired. Even AT&T Uverse indicates those episodes have previously aired years ago. So are these so-called new episodes of Air Emergence really just previous episodes of Air Disasters? 

The show's original title is 'Mayday', but is worldwide known as 'Air Crash Investigation'. 'Air Emergency' seems to be only for one or two markets.

Thanks for your info!

I live in Canada where this series is actually filmed (for Discovery Channel Canada), and its name is Mayday (as you can see in the IMDB DVD graphic). Until I tried to find it online, today, I had never heard it referred to as 'Air Crash Investigation' or 'Air Emergency'. I actually had a very difficult time finding it online, because IMDB doesn't reference it by its native title. I assume it must have to do with international licensing issues.

I found the the naming explanation on Wikipedia, when you search for 'Mayday'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mayday_episodes

"Mayday, known as Air Crash Investigation(s) in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Asia and also known as Air Emergency or Air Disasters (Smithsonian Channel) in the United States, is a Canadian documentary television series produced by Cineflix that recounts air crashes, near-crashes, fires, hijackings, bombings and other mainly flight-related disasters and crises."

Thanks for your info, everyone. I'm still a little confused about something. Air Disasters on the Smithsonian Channel is claiming to air new episodes; however, the newest episode (aired yesterday) about a plane crash into the Potomac River had aired previously. AT&T U-verse also indicated the "new" episodes have aired previously (some with original air dates from 2005). So why are they claiming the episodes are new when they're not (and I'm pretty sure the previous episodes also aired under Air Disasters). Anyone know? I looked for the answer, but couldn't find anything of value.
