Nice bit of acting Daphne. You say: 'Ooh, I don't know,' and of course you come out with the right answer, to build up the tension. Just so Jeremy and Dermot can say 'I don't know how she does it...' (We do - stop being annoying, or you'll take CJ's title for that).

If I had nothing better to do with my life - and happily, I do - I'd keep a running tally of this, just out of interest. Because it does seem like whenever Daphne throws her hands up and says, 'I have absolutely no idea!!!', her hit rate is around about 90%.
Which is just bloody irritating. If you genuinely don't kow, then your hit rate should be about 33%, from 3 choices. What she actually means is, 'I'm not completely sure, but I can make a bloody good guess and will usually be right.' Which is a far cry for her airhead-pretence of 'I have absolutely no idea!!!'
I'm sure she's just being a nice, sweet, modest granny and all, and it's not really a big deal, but it is annoying all the same.

shareBut that's how the photographic memory works, you don't know the answer but since its multiple choice you choose the answer that 'rings a bell' and its something your photographic memory stored away in the back of your mind, maybe something you saw on TV a few decades ago.
Daphne doesn't know the answer but she has to choose and ends up choosing the answer that rang a bell in her head.
