In the anime you could deffinatly tell that sailor moon was Usagi/Serena. In this version, with the outfit and hair you really have to look hard to see a diffrence.
Remember me, someday I will become a famous Rock star!
Yes, I noticed this too. If I hadn't already watched the anime I would have been really surprised. I'm glad they changed it to where it was hard to tell because in the anime when they discovered Serena was the Princess, I was like Well, I'm not the smartest person but I could have figured that one out! LOL!
Embrace your inner Raph! So we all can kick some major ass!
It's not just Usagi, though; all of the soldiers have different hairstyles from their normal ones, which I *adore.* I especially love Ami/Mercury's blue bob--it's so cute and absolutely works for her appearance. The detail that they all have very specific hairstyles bothered me a lot in the anime (even when you think of Makoto being so unusually tall--> that'd be something obvious to notice and make connections). Then again, I also think that the Superman/Clark Kent glasses thing has always been stupid; so the soldiers' transformations really help conceal their identities in a way that I think is smart and lacking in the other narratives.
~ I'll overlook your horrific grammar, even your stupidity. I can't overlook your ignorance.~
It was on purpose. They're suposed to be different in their regular form from their senshi form. They only looked similar in the anime for young audience relate them more easily.
I always assumed in the anime that there was some kind of magic that prevented people from recognising them when they were transformed. I remember in Buffy how whenever anyone saw Ben transform into Glory, a spell made them forget they saw it. When the girls see Minako in her civilian form at first, they only recognise her because Artemis is with her
In this it's a lot better that they look different in their transformed states. Minako, Usagi and Ami are especially almost unrecognisable
