well i just wanted evreyone to know that this was not a joke its a real project emial me with any questions you might have!
Besides, last I heard, the Creator of Sailor Moon herself had given no other country permission to make their own version of PGSM, and had no plans to do so.
So where's the "more on that later" post? I hate people who try and do something without getting permission first, it sucks. Getting peoples hopes up like that!
Um, i believe the reason japan pulled all liscensing from EVERY COUNTRY Sailor Moon WAS in was so that they COULDNT make their own PGSM. Besides, you COULDNT make ALL of the seasons because PGSM only lasted one and you can't make up new episodes like that (so I've heard, which is why 4Kids can't make their own Mew Mew Power episodes and will probably have to permanantly cancel the series but thats another show)
All I heard about the licensing was "blah blah blah Naoko Takeuchi and Toei don't have an agreement anymore blah blah blah no more merchandise" and then frantic yelling in my head going "OMG WHAT ABOUT THE TALKING LUNA PLUSHIE I NEED ONE!" But that sounds like a plausible factor in the license pulling. Never thought of it, or heard about it but forgot in like two seconds. One of those.
However, I did once hear about the license thing being a problem for the company that wanted to edit the translation of, reprint, and re-release the English manga, leaving them unable to do it. And yet, the guy who works at this anime store I go to said the re-released manga would be out next year or something. I don't know who's more likely to be right, but if he's right, w00t!
But whether some sort of deal has been made for general licensing or not, there's no way this production is happening. This can be a dinky little fanvideo for this person and their friend, a little summer project to pass the time, but nothing more. An illiterate IMDb-er is not making an English PGSM. Literate companies who don't go near our forums would be handling it if it would ever happen. And it WILL never happen. There can and will never be an English PGSM. It's just...not plausible. A) It just wouldn't work out here, and B) A deal could never be reached, anyway.
It's kind of a shame, but I mostly think an English one would be horribly ridiculous and corny, anyway.

I'm sorry, as much as we'd all like to believe you pgsmfan, there's virtually no chance that you'll ever get the rights to this show. However, if the impossible does happen, I have a suggestion. Perhaps you should wait until you have secured the rights in writing before petitioning for actors.
Not only is there no chance in hell that you'll get the rights, but do you really expect to get the funds to make the show? I mean, I suppose you can make a fanvideo that looks like it was filmed by a trained monkey in your backyard, but that's about it. I really hope an English one doesn't get made; it would probably be extremely corny and just too painful to watch. It would be nice if they released the original onto DVD, but that will never happen either. Thank goodness for BitTorrent.
