The Big Question

*** SPOILERS ***

I've seen the entire series, and I have a really big question to ask. If the case had not been sent back, who was GOING to shoot J.T.? It probably wasn't going to be the police guy (Quaid) since he would have only gotten involved at the homicide level AFTER J.T. was killed (since he was only brought in early because of the case file).

Since it happened at the Buck Naked bar, I feel it had to be Bremmer since he brought this place into the 'equation' (since he suggested it as the meeting place, I have to believe he had gone there before). Also, he would have found Angela/Claudia easier since she got a 'head-up' from the case file too, so it's easy to imagine the scene where J.T. is killed running from Bremmer (J.T. being there to talk reason to Bremmer, as he had tried ealier)...

Also, except obviously for its purpose at the end, why did the original killer drop a second bullet? And how did J.T. keys disappear? Shouldn't there have been two sets with the one sent back?

And wouldn't it have been a lot easier if Jesse had said it was her who sent it (via a small note included in the case?)...

Well, Jesse didn't need to put a note in the briefcase because she probably knew that JT would figure it out on his own. Besides, there was the possibility that JT wouldn't have believed the contents of the case, and even if a note was included he might have still been incredulous.

I think the keys were largely a paradox, unless he possibly finds the keys later. That is the only thing I can figure: In the original timeline he lost the keys, but Jesse found them after his death and included them in the case.

As for the bullet, Sikorski told JT that it was dropped as a calling card and that some professional killers drop bullets or other things behind as a signature of the hit. Since Bremmer was a professional mobster, he probably left the bullet behind originally.
