When JT was going to talk to one of the professors, when he was gonna take the case to get a pattent. There was a Riddick poster, and said special screening or something.....why? Some secret or something?

Just product placement. Sci Fi Channel ran a special scene from Riddick during the fourth episode, so it was probably related to that.
