UK dvd

Do any of you think this movie will be released on DVD outside of Scandinavia and Germany?

reply

i would like a copy of the dvd as well, but can't find one that's not a region 2 disk.

reply

Would't it be more easy to buy a Region free dvd (don't know how it is in your country, but here, they are all region free) and then just order the DVD's you like, the Danish Verson has English Subtitles.

It was released on dvd in the uk this week (8 Jan). All of the voices have been re-dubbed with English actors/comedians (Adrian Edmonson, Bill Bailey, Johnny Vegas etc). It would have been nice though to at least have the option of also watching the film in it's original language (with subtitles).

It's also very annoying on the UK dvd that although they have dubbed all the voices into English, they haven't bothered to supply translations of anything written in Danish that appears onscreen: the threatening letters, newspaper headlines, graffiti etc. Thus a lot of small touches of humour are lost.

Why on Earth they didn't offer the original Danish soundtrack with subtitles as an option is appalling and shows a complete misunderstanding of the market for the film. This was never going to be a huge mainstream hit in the UK and film buffs will want the original soundtrack.
