Hangar section - more meets the eye?

I heard a rumour that there is a reason that you can run around the craft selection hangar on foot rather than just switching between crafts.

For example in the Revenge of the Empire stage you can choose from 3 or four of either the Y-wings or X-wings. What for? Are they different?

Why can you run around some parts of the docking bay and not others?

Why can you jump?

And finally, how do you unlock the Millenium Falcon for use in all single player missions other than putting in the passcode?

whats the pass code this games to hard, can someone post the cheats. I cant access anything but imdb unfortunatly, where i work its the only site that we are allowed to use. everything else is off limits
