Mos Def ...Vivien Thomas did they ever enplane how Vivien got a girls name in the movie...Vivien is mosley a female name yes/no

Yes... When he is first introduced to 'Dr B'. Dr B says. 'Vivien... that's a girls name'. Vivien responds, 'My mother was so sure she was going to have a girl that she kept the name'.

I grew up around men with the name of Clara(Ranch owner), Beverly (local Superior Court judge), and heard about men called Evelyn.

Vivien or Vivian can also be a boy's name however it ia mostly common in the UK. So is Hillary.

When I was younger, I know of a male nurse named Irene and he was quite a cutie. His female patients must have been very lucky, however his co-workers always made a big deal of his name.

I also had a boy classmate named Nicole.

Actually Marion is generally the male spelling, Marian being the female, but both are used for either.

Those were common upper class Anglo Saxon names but changing times and "girls name" lead to them falling out of use. See also author Evelyn Waugh.
