Since it doesn't have a board I don't know where's the best SH board to ask but whatever...
So, I'm not a rabid SH fan but I greatly enjoy 1 - 4 (haven't played Origins) and was hesitant about Homecoming from the interviews with the people working on it and the like (it sounded like they wanted to make it a RE4 clone). I didn't want to be too dismissive in case it turned out well, but the videos of gameplay I've seen online didn't convince me too much....
And now incoming reviews don't seem all that kind. I was wondering if someone's already gotten the game and what their thoughts on it were? I'd love a good spooky game for Halloween but I'm not willing to shell out $50 for a lackluster game.

If youre a hardcore fan of SH, you probably wont enjoy it as much as some of the others (1, 2 or 3) as it mixes a bit of Saw into the overall storyline; but if you like the series/games, I would recommend it. Its my personal favorite of the games, and I feel it gets bashed on way too much.

Overall, I would suggest getting, and hope you enjoy it :)
