How did he do the magic trick again??

I think it reacts with the air because the crystals on his chest turned red when his body was pulled out of the water and they had to shake the rose around in the air a little bit to get it to turn red. Maybe it needs both.

I'm guessing the water was to make the powder stick to the rose, and it's the air that it reacts to, but I can't be sure.
