I can't believe IMDB thinks that people don't enjoy posting on these boards.

This is the TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY! We're SUPPOSED to chat with other diehard fans online!!
Then there are sites like Film General, which I joined about 2 years, which then was a good site to discuss film, but now is a shadow of its former self. Apparently the story is similar for other forums. All down to trolls, and people have been leaving the boards rather than joining. The individual film boards are a joke. It's not a surprise to learn that people who want to have an intelligent discussion about film, don't go to Imdb but other sites. This board is a perfect example of what happens when someone like Turk 41 appears, as he did recently. So I personally don't care about the message boards going. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Benman is literally the worst poster ever. His posts show that he has zero life and make puppies puke. He sucks.
shareIMDB knows darn well that people love posting to these boards. It's the first place I come after watching a movie to see if others liked it or not.
IMDB simply doesn't want to maintain it anymore. It's probably a lot of work and a lot of expense.
I'd feel better if they said "We're cheap and not gonna provide this anymore."
But instead, they are lying to our faces, saying that MOST of their users log into Facebook and use social media to discuss films.
The problem is people don't love posting on these boards. Of the many millions that use Imdb on a daily basis, only a tiny fraction of them use the boards, in fact people were leaving them. Take this board for example. While the show was running millions of people watched the show, but only a tiny % would visit the boards. By the final season the board was mostly populated by psychopaths. I hate to keep harping on about the subject, but on here Jim but mostly Pam would be attacked for no reason, whereas they were hugely popular with the viewing public. So a lot of what was said on here didn't reflect what the general public thought, and that is true of many of the boards. So the removal of them is no great loss.
