why did they touch this???

i have been a massive Tim Roth fan for years, and tracked this movie down, knowing he was not in it much, but wanting to see it anyway as the story sounded quite good... i was mistaken ... what a terrible film.

across the board the brits did well, with Tim brill as always and Jason Isaacs doing a good turn as well... but where the hell did they find the actors playing the French-Canadians... they were just terrible. the sets looked like they had been built by a high school drama club, the score was horrible and repetitive, the story meandering and slow, the dialogue cringe-worthy.. seriously i find little redeeming features and wonder why such great British actors, and the ever wonderful Gérard Depardieu even agreed to be in it??
