Whether it'll show on whole world or not

I saw this movie a couple of days ago, it's powerful, but the plot looks a little bit without logic. The patrol captain asked the gangsters "put down their weapon and confess their crimes to goverment" when the captain haven't any arms. Certainly, he was shot by one of gangsters. I feel it was a so stupid behaviour. I know the script wrote by the director. I have to say the script was not successful. But I know they have tried their best.

I think the captain got a little crazy because this has been his crusade. A little fantical you might say. He finally caught the criminal leader but could do nothing about it.

I dont't think that captain's behavior is no logic, captain did know the very disadvantaged situation, and still asked the gangster to surrender, director use this scene to show how stronge the faith captain had, futile or not,he would never give up.

How821017,
It seems to me you have missed the point of the script. The captain knew that this was as close as he was likely to get to the poachers leader and that he had exhausted all other options. His were the actions of a desperate man with no other alternatives and he chose to give the poachers the honorable option of surrendering. Also, if you remember, it was not the poacher leader who fired the first shot, it was one the other poachers so it may be that the leader of the poachers might have spared his life and left them in the desert had not one of the poachers shot him first. There are always ways to improve films but in this case the script was not one of those things that needed improving.

It's also worth remembering that this film was based on a true story. I admit I haven't read the original report so I don't know how closely Lu Chuan's script sticks to it, but he has said that it was his intention to report the facts of the story as closely as possible in this film. So you can't really blame Lu Chuan for 'flaws' in the plot!

What others said. And remember, people behave irrationally in real life all the time. But somehow many viewers expect everyone to have clear motives and behaviors in movies.

I have to disagree, because the end scene is the most powerful scene in the whole movie, in my opinion.
To finally show how helpless these patrol teams are, the director made the last scene very despairing. That's why this film is so hard to get away from my mind. This is not a happy ending, good guy kills bad guy kind of film. This is what would happen in real life.

It reminded me of Roben Hood. but sometimes they robbed from the poor too. It hit me that
the worm fishiers would probably turn into poachers too. The ending was sad. It hit me that
if there were antalopes in the area there should have been more animals to catch.
even if they didn't have enough bullits they could have set rabbit traps. How come
all of them walk around and only one got cough in a sand trap.

I think it was really just a sort of "negotiation/ challenge" where nobody was suppose to get shot-- that's why the poacher-leader went over and whacked the head of the poacher who shot the patrol-leader. Of course, the poachers might have shot the patrol-leader anyway if he gave them any more trouble, the way they shot the kidnapped patrol-man in the beginning-- making this partly a "vengeance" movie.

The script can be somewhat illogical at times. It's written by the director himself. But the message is powerful and does make up for it (mostly)
