GIRLS WHO LIKE MANHUNT/ROCKSTAR

howdy!
I just thought I should start a board and hear what other girls think of Manhunt and Rockstar games. I'm interested to see if our thoughts differ from the lads! Of course, I'd like the hear the guys pov's too :)

I love Rockstar because of their purposely trying to shock and even scare the audience. For example, Manhunt is scary in 2 ways: 1) because of the actual game itself - the audience is scared because you have to sneak around and not get caught like most horror games and 2) because it's scary that actual content like that can be produced.

When I first bought Manhunt, when it was released, I read the book thoroughly first and I was actually scared to play it!! The game freaked me out too, but I reckon it's one of the few horror games I could easily play over and over again because the plot is just so damn good.

I think my top 5 Rockstar games are:

1. GTA: Vice City
2. The Warriors
3. Manhunt
4. GTA: San Andreas
5. Canis Canem Edit (Bully)

If I can add to Manhunt being scary:

3) the music had a huge effect on it's creepiness.
4) there are real people out there that are dangerous and malicious as some of those gangs.
5) a delusional crazy person dressed as a clown running around buzzing people to pieces with a wielding chainsaw

yeh yeh totally agree! btw, who's the clown? is that in Manhunt 2? Coz it's a pig suit in Manhunt 1

I love Manhunt and the Grand Theft Auto series. The more violent a game is, the better. Sometimes, I just play GTA to blow *beep* up and to get the cops to chase me. That's how I pass spare time. The fun part of Manhunt is the hiding. Whenever I play this game, I get so into it, that I tell my husband to be quiet.

yeh yeh totally agree! btw, who's the clown? is that in Manhunt 2? Coz it's a pig suit in Manhunt 1

I meant to say pig. I have no idea why I said clown, haha.

The fun part of Manhunt is the hiding.

The fun part of Manhunt to me is the killing.

yayyy another girl who appreciates the beauty of Rockstar!

I must say, I like hiding especially on the Smiley levels, and just hearing what they say. That's another reason why I love Rockstar - they have the most random and hilarious sayings in their games. Like in Bully when urs being chased by a cop: "I always get my man kid...wait a minute, does that sound gay?" lol so gooood.

But yeah I like the killing in Manhunt - it's so cold and brutal and always gets me...lol

My friend Joanna loves violent games and beat Manhunt and Saint's Row. She LOVES the red baseball bat kill. ^_^ I love the red crow bar.

Another die-hard female gamer/RockStar fan here! I play GTA Vice City & San Andreas (no GTA 4 yet), Manhunt and I've also got Bully. Bully is kinda low-key, but it is fun and I do enjoy the dialog and the soundtrack. Manhunt could very well be one of the best games I've ever played (right up there with the RE series), but I wish that I could say the same thing about Manhunt 2--the most miserable game in every way!!!!!

I hope that RockStar doesn't fall prey to the controversies that surround many of their best-sellers because it's these very controversies that contribute to their overall greatness--along with that great witty banter that's so popular with Rockstar's games!

I love Rockstar. The original GTA came out when I was 9 and thank God my mom let me play it lol. I'm a huge fan of everything they put out. Manhunt is awesome, GTA is my favorite series ever, Bully is a lot of fun, etc. I love how they add extras in the games, like tie ins to other Rockstar titles and the hilarious dialogue in every game. The Smileys are hilarious and some of the stuff CJ says in San Andreas is awesome. "I'm rich and *beep* crazy." lol

True. I heard that some of the townies in Bully reference Starkweather in their dialogue.

I love Manhunt it is one of my fave games. The warriors was ok aswell. I love Bully its just brilliant. But if I wanna f"ck stuff up and feel in the mood I always play a bit of Manhunt, its good for the soul.

It's only fair isn't it? I mean sometimes these things have to be done. I loved the level were the body bag sits up as you run past it. I proper sh!t my pants the first time that happened. It's creepy and I feel quite ill if I play it for too long, feel like I'm seasick or something, or maybe its the deaths...its a possibility :)

Anyways, I love a bit of Manny and quite simply if I didn't have a bit of a chill on that every now and then I would sectioned or in prison.

It should be used in relaxation. Everybody listen up! Sack off yoga and meditation, play Manhunt and SNUFF 'EM.

I want Manhunt 2 but its banned here.

Yes, that level is one of my favorites! I also like the scene where the fat, eviscerated bodies are swinging from meat hooks. I like to run James Earl through them again and again!

Manhunt is the best!!! Bully's really good as well but Manhunt lets all your anger out lol! I love the Skinz and the Smilies, but shooting the cops is the best! Lots of people have said Manhunt 2 is bad, but I really want to play it just to see!

I've waited for the Manhunt sequel for years, and trust me, you DON'T want to play this! It's NOTHING like the original, it's like a fake, 'wanna be' Manhunt (completely different storyline, poorly crafted)--and I also finished it in one evening.

Some things just weren't meant to be created--much like the Matrix sequels, which ended up doing a disservice to purity of the overall Matrix message. Manhunt 2 is like this, so I erase it from my mind as if it never existed. IT'S THAT AWFUL!!!!!!!

That's disappointing to know! Like Lovelyjugs, I really want to play on it but if it's as bad as people are saying then maybe not lol Manhunt's the best though, the best level is View of Innocence I think. I get a real kick shooting their heads off...a bit psychotic I know!

Love you Nova. Well sectioned is being sectioned under the mental health act, in other words you're a nut and they put you away in a nut house, or a "hospital" were you are treated for being a loon.

I could cry hearing that about a Manhunt 2. But you know when you're James Cash it kicks ass, also why is it that when the Smilies I think it is call you DOG LEGS, that I nearly pee my pants laughing? I laugh when they call you names, it confirms why I have to kill them, I mean how very dare they and how rude! I do not have dog legs haha!

Well,
I never thought that some girl play MH or GTA as both games are IMHO misogynistic.
Seems I was wrong. I dare to say the Manhunt is Fight Club of video-games.

Anyway,
I haven't played it in a while, but it was good enterteinment. Scary and intense one. Sheer fun of sheer brutality.
