Where did this film come from?

It's prolly just me, but I've never hear of it before. I saw it tonight on HBO (I'm living in romania at the moment and thats the only decent english channel they have) and i caught this movie part way through and it's just adorable! I suppose my only critique(if thats the word) would be that the little kid is being abused (by his parents or foster parents?), which doesnt seem to add anything to the plot... I mean, he could just be a foster child whose foster parents are looking for a good home for him...

It's like every film about catholic priests HAS to have something in in about sexual abuse... seems to be a pettern arising when it comes to foster families and physical abuse...

Ok, it's just a detail, but I don't think it was necessary, however when you expect things to go wrong they don't. It's just a beautiful little film with a feel good ending. And being in Romania it's good to see a film about adoption being broadcasted to the population.

I'm rambling, but i'm tired, I just think more ppl should watch n comment on this film ^_^

To me ther are very few PERFECT films, I'll name a couple though:

1. Shawshank Redemption: all around perfect movie but a definate perfect drama

2. The Score: a perfectly executed thriller

3. Love For Rent: an absolutely perfect romantic comedy

I liked Love For Rent so much that I can't even begin to start. Its only flaw... the title. Angie Cepeda was just on point in so many ways. Can't wait to see more of her.

I've never seen "The Score", but Shawshank is one of my all time faves.

Have you seen Mystic River? or The Legend of 1900? They're both amazing, see them!

Have to agree that the only thing wrong with this film is the title.
Love for Rent sounds like a remake of Pretty Women.

The child was being abused by his biological mother. He was sneaking back to see her and she didn't want him around.
