Was Max being abused by his foster parents? the Principal and the foster mother said that he would go back to his real mother and she was doing it. However I was sure if she was telling the truth or lying.

It seemed to me that while the foster parents didn't care about Max, they didn't hit him. That was during his visits to his bio-mother who was an alcoholic and druggie.

Truly I'm surprised that this movie didn't get more play. It's funny and yet has an interesting story to tell. And the leads? absolutely terrific together.
