This movie is waaaaay better than the American remake

In every way possible! Does anyone else agree?

In the American version, the only character whos acting was solid was the little girl who played the eldest daughter. She should have won an academy award!

Absolutely not.. The american version blew me away! Especially the acting.

I thought both versions were great. The remake really stuck the original. And as for the acting, I thought it was great in both.

Donny, you're out of your element! Dude, the Chinaman is not the issue here!

I prefer the American version because of Jake Gyllenhaal and Bailee Madison. I would have liked to have seen Connie Nielsen in place of Natalie Portman, though. And ANYBODY in place of Tobey Maguire... The American version was much better written, they were able to fix all the weaknesses of this original version. The dinner table scene in the American version is heartbreaking due to the brilliant work of both Gyllenhaal and Madison. I'll never for get the brilliance of both of these actors in this scene.
