Gregory Peck liked Dave the Barbarian

Most bizarre thing I've very seen. In the trivia section of the Gregory Peck page there is the following:

His family have said in interviews that during his final days of life, film studios everywhere sent him presents as a "thank you" for the memories. Disney accidentally sent him an unfinished black and white copy of the pilot episode of Dave The Barbarian. After watching it, he sent it back to them with a little message "Congratulations, you found the next Mickey Mouse".

I always knew the man had taste!

That's hilarious! ^_^ I read on Johnny Depp's page that he loved watching "Dave the Barbarian" with his kids. Disney cancelled a great show... *sigh*

reply

Lol I just saw that too, along with Johnny Depp. It says Jim Carrey loved it too.

"Is a huge fan of the cartoons Johnny Bravo, Spongebob Squarepants and Dave The Barbarian."

Man...I liked it too...I want it back.

reply

lol That's awesome. It's one of John Cleese's favorite shows to (according to his trivia). You know when you've got genius actors lauding the show it should be some kind of indication of the quality of the material. I loved Dave the Barbarian, nothing on Disney since they cancelled it has filled the void.

Truer words were never spoken.

Mr. Peck had probably never even seen the show. There are similar comments in Johnny Depp's, Steve Martin's and other random actor's profiles. Don't forget, IMDB is edited by fans, so some loser who likes "Dave the Barbarian" obviously has way too much time on their hands.

reply

I love the show, I don't want to say random a loser edited it (as I could start a post war with the loser who actually did it...plus I could hurt their feelings), but I have to agree.

imdb.com used to state Frank Oz was attached to direct Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but he has denied it and stated "Don't listen to imdb"

reply

I think some fan is lieing about all that stuff, because alot of actors on there imdb trivia have stuff about liking this show and I like this show and all but the chances of them all liking it is so rare.

Don't ever call me a kubrick hater, or I will have my droogs beat you to death.

Here's something interesting

Just to see if all this is a lie, I tried submitting to imdb.com trivia that Michael Jackson was a big fan of Dave the Barbarian. I'm pretty sure Wacko Jacko was one.

But months later, it's not up. So maybe there's a little truth to these statements.

reply

Shut up with the "Wacko Jacko". The man has a name. Use it.

Paedophile, you mean?

I have opinions of my own, but I don't always agree with them - George Bush

reply

LOL. Wacko Jacko or Pedophile perfectly suit that freak.

I know I'm a little late, but if you look a little closer Gregory Peck passed away in 2003 and this show aired in 2004. Did he speak from his grave ? I doubt that.

reply

yeah but it was an unfinished black and white pilot that was accidentally sent to him he was commenting about.
