Fights with his wife. Becomes estranged from his son. Can't balance the two.
shareIt's rare to find a film that is made for people of all ages. Yet appealing, entertaining and not condescending to peoples intelligence. They clearly changed their target audience from first film for the second. Film had potential to be just a good as the first one. It fell into many old tropes. It seriously dumb down both Alejandro and Elena. Family drama was pretty contrived and guess who was executive producer on this film Steven Spielberg. If you seen season 1 of Falling Skies and Terra Nova. You get good idea of how mediocre Spielberg makes family drama. I don't see a third film as a possibility because they waited so long do a sequel. Reboot of the franchise would be warranted though.

The Mummy 2 made the same mistake by saddling our heroes with a kid. In that instance it wasn't quite as fatal as it was here.
