ANyone else hate the kid?

This entire film was pretty boring to me and the ending i lost focus but I must say the entire dance scene and when Alejandro/Zorro got drunk and was prancing around mad that was filmed rather well.

The kid also annoyed me.

OMG i so wished someone would have shot/gutted that kid. He was soo annoying. Also, he was about 18 shades darker than either Zorro or Elena, so elena must have slept with one of those dudes from the mexican deep south or something.

Nitroglycerine could explode from just shaking the bottle, the stuff is really unstable. They were throwing it around like it was plastic explosives.

This movie was horrible. But I guess they'll have a 3rd one, where Zorro comes and rescues everyone at the Alamo, in part 4 Mexico allies with Germany in WW1!

I see this is the thread for kid-hating grouches.

I LOVED the kid! I thought he was great. His relationship with is father kind of Parallels the relationship between Diego and his father, ( Proud of Zorro but ashamed of Diego/Alejandro). I also loved the way Little Joaquin kicked butt in the class room. Another parallel scene is when Alejandro/Joaquin Confesses to Zorro his disappointment in his Son/Father. I really loved that kid

Weird, I never knew nitroglycerine was a real substance. I thought it was made up for the movie.

No it is real and very dangerous if you do not know how to move it without it going off at all.

"...Also, he was about 18 shades darker than either Zorro or Elena, so elena must have slept with one of those dudes from the mexican deep south or something".

I got your point and I have to say it is not the boy´s fault. But Elena, What the H ll is an english woman doing in a mexican character? She is 25 shades clearer than a mexican girl. Jennifer Lopez would be much better.

Besides, the human nature is very unpredictable. For instance, you could be son of Obama, even if you don´t know. The truth will emerge in the second generation, when your grandson will be more shaded than you.

CZJ isn't English, she's Welsh. And the Welsh like the Irish and Scottish are Celts related to Spaniards genetically. That's where you get the Black Celtic looks like CZJ or Sean Connery, that darker hue comes from their base ancestry that pops up once in a while. And CZJ isn't light, she's olive skinned similar to Ralph Macchio.

He wasn't much darker than Banderas or Jones but the kid looks like he had strong Amerindian ancestry and didn't resemble either Banderas or Jones.

Hated that kid. He should have gotten the pointy end of a sword in his head.

Most of the time I find kids in movies really annoying, and I've been known to bitch about children in real life, especially the ones that I see at work... but for some reason, I liked this little guy. He was pretty badass. I surprised myself.

Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

reply

You have to realize how important this child is and it showed how he could be like his father when he becomes an adult. He did stunts like his dad who is Zorro would do.

So as you know he is going to be the future of playing an important role as replacing his father as Zorro that is if they decide to continue this franchise of Zorro.

yup, hated the kid. I also thought of temple of doom right away. I like TOD but it could have been so much better, starting with no short round. it seems these cutsy roles are added in to appeal to a younger audience and while i'm not old I left puberty behind long ago. when kids start beating up adults it just takes me out of the movie. it's really too bad because I liked mask of zorro a lot. that movie had much more charm and better performances and script/story. rufus sewell and nick chinlund, great as they are, could not save this convoluted, overlong, boring mess. too much focus on the kid and czj...one zorro is enough. this film had three. antonio, plus a female version and a child version. on the plus side the score was pretty good, nice special effects(explosion at the end) and the final frame was a nice touch.

Oh, you guys are heartless! The kid was great, he was the very meaning of *beep* Come on,

"What were you doing in a bar?"

"What are you doing in jail?!"

He kept me in stitches the whole way through.

I love children! But I could never eat a whole one...

I'm most of the way through this film, and i'm in agreement with this thread.

I find the kid to be a cocky little sh!te

reply

I merely got annoyed how he was pushed into every situation after another. Yes, he's the son of the new Zorro. He's not "the" Zorro, now matter how much he shows off in front of his classmates. I wonder if there's some kind of 'Zorro' gene that allows everyone to do flips and stunts.

Don't get me started on his little imitation of Neo when he fought the two badguys at the mine. Guts, sure. Disrespectful little brat.
