I caught that, too.
The guy you posted a picture of isn't Ira, so you're right, they did leave one out.
He might look like Ira, but Ira's actually a pretty obvious find in the book - you can't really mistake him for the "devil guy."
i read the book for the first time in YEARS today with the kids i teach. and they actually forgot two monsters, i think. this devil guy and another one that sort of looks like KW, but doesn't have duck feet and is striped.

In the book there isn't a mention of number of monsters. The pictures are there to just to give you an idea of what they look like.
