Boooooring!
Period!
shareNope!
shareThere were moments which lagged, I thought. To that end, this film was not perfect. However, what this film did well, I thought, it did really well, and to that end I think this was a very good picture.
Here's a brief reaction:

Definitely agree, it was boring. I was just wanting to get through the movie. Couldn't stand the kid and not much interesting happened.
shareI just finished watching it now and... I realized I took a nap and I've lost 20 minutes of the film. But I'll watch again tomorrow.
shareYes, this is the fundamental flaw of the film. And I had high hopes for this, given that Jonze's previous three films all landed in my top 65 (including the #1 overall spot, for Her). This one ended up at 833 out of 1122, far lower than I ever would have guessed (though the Netflix algorithm, to its credit, saw this coming).
There were some critics I respect, like David Edelstein, who liked this a lot, too. I fail to comprehend how they fought off the boredom.
