What do you think happened after he left?

I wonder if things got any better for the wild things after Max left? Or if things just went back to how they were when Max first showed up.

I think things were probably a little better at first. Carol and KW probably made up and she came back to stay for awhile. Things seemed ok but they eventually started to drift apart again. Carol and KW would increasingly get into more arguments that built up into bigger fights until one day KW had had enough and went off to the other side of the island, taking Alexander and that bull guy with her. Carol spiraled into deep depression and became suicidal so he had to be put in a counseling program.

Of course, none of them ever saw Max again and they eventually forgot about him. Over time Carol learned to move on from KW and found other things to keep himself interested.

And so life went on for the wild things until the sun died. But hey, who knows right? They could have been done in before then by any number of calamities. disease, famines, meteors.. Earthquakes. Toonamies....
