Max - Autistic?

That's what I thought.

Do you want to even TRY to give an explanation to your claim? 

"God, when I meet you, I'm gonna be pretty. If it's the last thing I do. I'll be a beautiful angel."

reply

I figured more like "SPOILED BRAT"

reply

I don't think spoiled brat, maybe either autistic or just going through a hard time because of his parents divorce

reply

i don't really think so, I think he just needs some discipline and tought to handle things better, im autistic and I don't go around destroying things.

As a mother of a child with ADHD, watching Max with his monsters and his mother was a lot like watching my life. From inside, if you know what I mean.

This, more or less, is how an unmedicated child with ADHD lives.

reply

Sounds pretty awesome being unmedicated.

Ffs. He's like any other boy going through the things he is and having trouble dealing with his emotions. If you see him as autistic you lose the element that this film and the book had for EVERYONE who has been at that age and struggled with like emotions, and confine it to one small section of the population.

reply

Max was a spoiled little brat and an awful child.

Do not tell me that someone around age 9-10 should act like him in ANY WAY whatsoever.

He had absolutely no discipline and was treated to cake at the end of the movie for acting like a little *beep*. His behavior was that of a toddler having tantrums.

The ONLY way that behavior would be acceptable for a boy his age is if he had some sort of mental disability.
