Canadian health care

Canadian health care is ok however it still doesn't cover a lot of things. It doesn't cover dental as if teeth weren't part of your health, doesn't cover an ambulance ride, doesn't cover prescription drugs. So yes it is ok but I wouldn't say it's great.

Same with Australian healthcare but if your a student/ on social welfare etc you pay a lot less. But yeah the basics are covered which is the most important.

reply

Yes it does..

It varies by province. In Ontario the only dental covered by OHIP (the provincial health care) is emergency dental. Other dental services are out of pocket. Eye exams for children and seniors are covered, as well as those for individuals with specific eye related conditions, but not for healthy adults. Eye glasses and other perscriptions are not covered. Ambulance rides are charged to the person who takes them, but we only pay $75, the rest is covered by the province. Still way way better than the US IMO.

An ambulance ride in the US is $2500.00.

You pay more than $75 you have to figure every time you or anybody puts gas in your car roughly .30 is going to health care not to mention your income taxes and price of goods. Not to say you can't like your system its just annoying when people say that's all they pay. I live in a boarder state to Canada and all the Canadians can talk about when their in the US is how much cheaper goods are in the US and none of them forget to fill up their cars before they head back across the boarder.

Our Health Care in Canada may not be the worlds best, but I would take it over the crappy US pay till you are broke forever option any day of the week.
