anyone wish this is closer to the original 2 films?

After how much they departed from the original 2 films when Stanley Tong started directing, I was hoping they would go back to the tone of the first 2 films a bit more but instead, they made this extremely modern, dark, violent, brooding, depressing film that barely resembles the original Police Story. I still liked it but I was kinda hoping it to go back to the roots of Police Story a bit more. Anyone else agree with me?
